Diversity and Equal Opportunities

This course is designed to provide an understanding of discrimination and prejudice and how it affects people in the workplace. The course outlines some of the laws relating to equality at work and how equal opportunities can be applied to participants’ own experience of work.

By the end of the session, the participants will be able to:

  • Define the term Equal Opportunities
  • Challenge stereotypes
  • Understand how language can be oppressive
  • Define prejudice and discrimination
  • Identify some of the laws on equal opportunities in the workplace
  • Identify which Acts support people in challenging discrimination
  • Identify different types and possible effects of discrimination
  • Apply an equal opportunities approach in the workplace
