Yoga for Relaxation

Yoga means to "unite" and is a lifestyle practise that unites and integrates mind, body and spirit. This session aims to introduce yoga exercises, breathing techniques and meditation, Once learnt these techniques can be practised at any time to relieve tension, rebalance energy levels, aid relaxation and a positive outlook. Yoga encourages a sense of peaceful stillness, the perfect antidote to a busy life. In this session, a variety of Yoga activities offer the opportunity to clear a sense of time and space and to regain a sense of Self.

By the end of this session, participants should be able to:

  • Understand the stress responses within the body and how Yoga and relaxation practises can maintain a healthy stress response, enabling us to function at our optimal level.
  • Stretch and release tension with flowing Yoga movements
  • Quieten the mind with breathing techniques and settle into stillness with a guided meditation.

Pre-requisites:

This session involves several yoga warm-up, breathing and stretching exercises. Please bring loose comfortable clothes. Other equipment will be provided. 

Duration:

2 hours. Can be combined with any other ecf training product

Participants:

Group of up to 20

Location:

Venue of your choice, or arranged by ecf training
